Jamie Traughber is an Estate, Trust and Tax Attorney, and is the owner of Traughber Private Wealth Law, LLC. He graduated from the University of Kentucky with a B.A. in History and received his J.D. from the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law. Jamie has practiced Estate, Trust and Tax law for his entire career.
Jamie Traughber has over 13 years of experience advising on complex and interconnected legal issues affecting the personal, business and financial aspects of his clients’ investments and business activities. After beginning his practice with Stoll Keenon Ogden, he spun his practice out to Hargrove Madden LLP, a boutique estate planning law firm that expanded into 23 states. There Jamie served as head of operations for the Louisville office and later as Managing Partner for the successor firm, Hargrove Traughber LLP.
In recognition of his achievements as an Estate Planning and Asset Protection attorney, Jamie Traughber was recently included in Louisville Business First’s list of the “20 People to Know in Law”.
Jamie advises individuals and business owners on Estate Planning, Asset Protection, Tax Planning, Family Business Planning, Business Succession, and Charitable Planning matters. He also represents Executors, Administrators and Trustees in Probate, Estate and Trust Administration Matters. Jamie is experienced in both domestic and international tax planning and administration matters.
Jamie has a passion for helping the elderly and individuals with disabilities and special needs. Early in his career, he began focusing on Special Needs Planning and Elder Law Planning, along with Asset Protection for all individuals - those of modest and those with great wealth.
Jamie is a frequent speaker at various seminars on Estate Planning, Asset Protection, Tax, Special Needs and Long-Term Care Planning matters, including the University of Louisville Business School sponsored Louis A. Grief Tax Institute. He has also published an article in the Kentucky Bench and Bar as Co-Author of "Death Taxes: Confusion Reigns."
Jamie is actively involved in the community and serves as a Director for Harbor House of Louisville, Inc. - lighting the way for people with disabilities. Jamie also supports the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in its search for a cure to Type 1 Diabetes. He is also a member of the Louisville, Kentucky and American Bar Associations, and is admitted to practice law in Kentucky.
